Marquette Method NFP is effective. Since the research at the MUINFP was all done on couples with formal instruction, professional instruction is critical. One of the things that sets the Marquette Method apart from other methods of Fertility Awareness Based Methods, is that it is exclusively taught by healthcare professionals.
The Clearblue Fertility Monitor comes with an instruction manual and there are books to teach you how to chart, so why work with an instructor?
